As part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade, the West Yorkshire-based station, Batley, has been transformed.
The station has been made step-free, with a new footbridge and lifts replacing the subway.
Significant progress was made over the summer during a 28-day closure, allowing numerous aspects of work to be carried out.
The lifts have officially opened at the station, but customers should be aware that some aspects of work will continue.
Teams will now be focusing on installing new waiting shelters and reopening the car park. The additional work is expected to continue into next year, with completion anticipated for spring 2027.
The upgrade was part of a wider project that has also seen upgrades to Morley and Mirfield, aiming to help passengers travel more independently.
“Customers at Batley will now have step-free access at the station for the first time following the construction of a brand-new footbridge with lifts. Improving accessibility across the Transpennine route is a core benefit of the programme, so this is another major milestone for us.
“I’d like to thank our teams who worked around the clock to deliver this, and to our local communities for their support and understanding. We’re pleased that communities will be able to experience the benefits of TRU at Batley and beyond.”
